Why this project?
To uplift and restore dignity to victims of sexual abuse. Sexual abuse is a real scourge worldwide. It affects women, children and men. The numbers are alarming. Although voices are slowly being heard through films, articles or social media, the subject remains largely taboo.
LIGHT ON SHADOW is an artistic and human initiative aiming to break this taboo and provide a space of healing, recognition, and dignity for victims.
Through powerful and authentic photographic portraits created by Benny Tache, photographer and himself a victim of sexual abuse, the beauty, strength, and humanity of those who have lived through the unimaginable are brought into the light.
Each portrait is accompanied by a written testimony, and for those who wish, a filmed interview.
This content will be shared on our trilingual website (French, German, English), as well as Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, to inspire, raise awareness and support.
LIGHT ON SHADOW is accessible to everyone, everywhere in the world, 24/7. Its purpose is to serve as a balm for those who feel alone and trapped in their experience, and to create a channel of compassion through this transcendent sharing. Its aim is also to raise awareness in the world about a reality that has remained hidden for far too long.

The initiators
LIGHT ON SHADOW is a non-profit association. The core team is made up of four people based between Montreux and Lausanne, Switzerland. Each member brings their skills - in art, therapeutic support, communication, and administration.
Anyone wishing to take this step can contact us at info@lightonshadow.com. Together, we discuss the modalities of sharing (website, social media…). This commitment is not definitive - one can withdraw at any time.
This process of bringing experiences into the light may evoke ambivalent feelings. That is why Stéphanie is available to support anyone who wishes to be accompanied.
We are supported by a lawyer specialised in family law, who ensures that all legal aspects are respected, particularly concerning the rights connected to the stories shared with Light on Shadow.
Our collaboration extends to public and private institutions that are sensitive to our approach. The more portraits emerge, the more powerful our network for awakening and freeing the voice will become.
